and enjoying the fresh air and warmth of the first days of spring, it's lovely!

i am going...  outside to pull some weeds and chase the blue jays & starlings away from the birdfeeder, again

An apple tree in full blossom is like a message,
sent fresh from heaven to earth,
of purity and beauty."
~ Henry Ward Beecher ~

for today

for today
outside my window... 28F/snowing @ 3:00pm
i am thinking...   2022 was a difficult year for me for many reasons.
I think there just came a point when I became overwhelmed and had to take a break.
I found it painful to sit at my computer beyond checking my email.
Alas, I've made it through this blog update, and have been working on a new blog header
for February.... fingers crossed, I'll get some scrapbook layouts done soon!
i am thankful for... an ergonomic snow shovel
i am wearing... blue jeans, 2 thermal shirts, oversized flannel shirt & sherpa-lined ankle boots
i am going...  out the back door for firewood and back into the house lickity-split
it's snowing' & blowin' like crazy out there *yikes*
i am currently reading...  A Quiet Retreat. by Kiersten Modglin
i am hoping... to watch the NFC Divisional Champions,
Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Redskins this Sunday
on my mind... gas @ $3.37/gallon, milk @ $4.99/half-gallon, butter @ $3.99/lb
pondering these words...
"There are two seasonal diversions
that can ease the pain of any winter;
one is the January thaw,
the other is the seed catalogs."
~ Hal Borland ~
from the kitchen...
creamed chipped beef
skillet browned potatoes/onions
chocolate cake
around the house...  down throws to snuggle up with
one of my favorite things...  my Elmira cast iron cook/woodstove
i'm creating...
a February blog header
a few plans for the week... firewood delivery, grocery shopping
