for today

for today...

outside my window... 50F/clear @ 9:30pm
i am thinking... 3 bears walking along the creek & in the pasture behind my house is a rare sight
i am thankful for... the eagles' nest on Rt 49, Deerfield Township, Tioga County, PA
i am wearing... blue jeans, cotton tee and long sleeved shirt, birkenstocks
i am going... grocery shopping
i am currently reading... The Mueller Report, Vol 2
i am hoping... to hang laundry out on the clothesline, if it ever stops raining *sigh*
on my mind... gas @ $2.99/gallon, milk @ $2.55/gallon, butter @ $2.99/lb
pondering these words...
"and since all this loveliness cannot be Heaven,
I know in my heart it is June."
~  Abba Woolson ~
from the kitchen...
a philly cheese steak
chocolate cupcakes with mocha buttercream
around the house... herb seedlings, phlox in vases
one of my favorite things... rhubarb
i'm creating... the June Challenges @ The Lilypad
a few plans for the week... yard work; remove porch windows
from my lens:
bear in the pasture, YIKES!
sooooo, I saw these 3 bears walking downstream in the creek behind my house, grabbed my camera and ran out onto the back porch to hopefully get at least one photo, but they were really too far away... but I snatched up my cat who was sitting on his "porch chair" and just then, there was Mama Bear heading back up through the pasture.... inside with kitty, and out the door again, walked right up to the pasture, and she just ignored me for a moment, all the while I was snapping a few fotos... then she took off back down to her cubs, which she had tucked away, so I never did get a shot of them... it's the first time I've seen a bear in the pasture in 24 years, I had to slap myself for walking so close to her... she was 6' tall.
