for today

for today...

outside my window... 20F/it's a sunny morning
i am thinking... of replacing ribbons with white/taupe bandannas on my holiday wreaths
i am thankful for... Jerry, who not only delivers my firewood,
but will neatly stack it under the porch if I'm not around
i am wearing... black jeans, thermal shirt & ankle boots
i am going... to The Carpenter's Shop in Ulysses, PA for bags of kindling
i am currently reading... "A Year of Living Kindly," by Donna Cameron
i am hoping... my mailbox survives the snowplows
on my mind... gas @ $2.79/gallon, milk @ $2.75/gallon, butter @ $2.39/lb
pondering these words...
I heard a bird sing, in the dark of December,
A magical thing, and sweet to remember.
'We are nearer to Spring than we were in September,'
I heard a bird sing, in the dark of December."
~ Oliver Herford, I Heard a Bird Sing ~
from the kitchen...
dinner menu... sweet Italian sausage, chicken scaloppini, served with angel hair pasta & garlic bread
holiday goodies... eggnog, pizelles & peanut brittle for gifting
around the house...  white poinsettias, evergreens & holly
one of my favorite things... Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet
i'm creating... the December Challenges @ The Lilypad, a new blog header/FB cover and
a few plans for the week... decorating, baking, designing, organizing my house & shopping
