Winter ends ... Spring begins

the last load of the firewood was delivered ... until the Fall

St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner was prepared, then delivered to my friends

Irish Soda Bread was substituted this year for Philadelphia Tea Biscuits, a newly found recipe

and although we had a few warm days this month, it has snowed and been freezing this week,

covering the spring bulbs with a blanket of fresh snow, they should survive!

for today

for today...
outside my window... 46F/rain @ 12:00am
i am thinking... Russia needs to implement a Cease Fire IMMEDIATELY in Ukraine!
i am thankful for... SPRING!
i am wearing... blue jeans, cotton shirt, Birkenstocks
i am going...  to try and Stay Positive!
i am currently reading...  Nine Lives, by Peter Swanson
i am hoping... to get an estimate on a new pump for my well, and finally... running water, again!
on my mind... gas @ $4.29/gallon, milk @ $3.99/gallon, butter @ $2.49/lb
pondering these words...
"The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another.
The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month."
~ Henry Van Dyke, Fisherman's Luck ~
from the kitchen...
panko-breaded pork cutlets
rice pilaf with sauteed mushrooms and gravy
coconut-topped white cupcakes with cream cheese buttercream frosting
tea biscuits with golden raisins
around the house... hopefully, the last of the firewood
one of my favorite things...  spring bulbs peeking through the ground
a few plans for the week... yardwork!
